Good bye ...

      Remember how we secretly brought you home on the January of 1999? Then I had the same feelings that I have presently. At that moment I lostmy four-legged friend and you had to compensate for her. Now I know it never will be possible. Such as Bessy you have found the place in my heart as well and you stay there forever. You know the most how much I needed you. It was a misery seeing my best friend’s last days and how she suffered at that time. Deep in my mind I was hoping for her recovery… however her health got worse hour by hour and I had to let her go.

      ”Emptiness” - is the word that characterised my feelings. The fire in me after life disappeared. I was not able until recognising you, BONA LINEA AUREA. You were small, clumsy ten-week-old puppy of a Golden retriever who I brought from Mijava. You have changed my life. You gave back my hope that was gone with Bessy. You were the one who gave me back the flavour of life. You as a puppy were already thoughtful and you loved tidiness. As you grew, we started to go to exhibitions, examinations, test and competitions together. After hard teamwork we reached our first successes. During your short life you have received a bunch of exhibition titles and a lot of acknowledgement from people of the kynological world. You were really good. You had your mistakes and beauties, but who doesn’t have? You gave us many four-legged and two-legged friends, many of them friends for a lifetime.

      In august you have fallen in love with a very nice young dog and in October you have given life to your ”fruit” of your love. These were six beautiful puppies. You were the perfect mother who took care of the puppies with love and tenderness. Your puppies split as seven-week-old all around the place/world. We just kept one of your daughters – that liveliest and most stubborn one. Her name was Arlett. She was your opposite. You were the embodiment of human kindness and she was like hundred devils. It was a pleasuref or me to watch how you played together and how you raised your own daughter. You loved all your puppies the same as you liked the people and the water. Water, which became crucial in your life and people who let you down in your last days. Even in my worst dreams I haven�t thought I could loose you so early. Human unintentionally after living together with his/her four-legged pet friend tries to prepare for the worst. But being prepared for this is impossible. Everyone is touched by such events unexpectedly and unprepared. And always the same feelings that hurt. It hurts from the inside, emptiness of the mind, hopelessness, loneliness, madness and a lot of questions come to our mind beginning with the word: ”Why…?”

      The pain is scary. It hurts that you were the one who left me alone who I loved so much. I miss you and Arlett misses you, too. I don’t know why it had to happen. Life seems so unfair to me. I don’t know why so many people have no feelings. You were too young to die so soon! Not quite three years ago Bessy and now YOU, Ich.Ch. Bona Linea Aurea. Life without you is so empty. Every little thing reminds me of you day by day. Arlett with her numb look always watches me and asks the question: ”Mommy, where are you? Why did you leave me?” And I look at her and quietly say: ”She is far away. Far away, very far away.

      I did not even have the time to say good bye to you, to let you go. Please forgive me all the bad things I have done to you, please forgive me that I was not a good friend of you enough, please forgive me for not being able to help. I would be the happiest person on the face of the earth if a time machine existed and I could turn back time.
